The night that Y'shua was betrayed He told His disciples to stay awake and keep watch with Him. He said watch and pray while I go over there and pray. We to are told on passover to stay up all night and keep watch. With our staff in our hand and our sandles on our feet we are to eat the passover. We are to be prepared to move at a moments notice. While just as the disciples fell asleep and could not stay awake, so do I find it nearly impossible to stay awake all night. No matter how much I want to. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.

We are to stay up and eat the passover lamb. And if any of it remain at morning we are not to eat it but to burn it with fire. Y'shua is our passover lamb. And when morning comes He is no longer in the tomb. No long the lamb that has been slaughtered. But now a new born creation from the dead. And we are not to eat of Him. He is to go threw the fires of purification, just as we are to burn the rest of the remaining lamb with fire. At first light He appeared. And at first light we are to stop eating of the lamb.

In the passover sedar we are to drink 4 cups. The 3rd cup Y'shua said that it is the blood of the renewed covenant. But the 4th cup He said He would not drink of it till He drank it anew with us in the kingdom. On my way home from work the evening before passover I ask my Lord, What is it that the 4th cup is all about? And His reply came into my mind.

The 4th cup is the cup of praise right! Who is the praise tribe? Yahuda (Judah), Right. Yahuda means Praise Yah. Y'shua came out of the tribe of Judah. He came as the Lamb of God. In the book of Revelations we read that the Lion of the tribe of Judah is worthy to take the scroll and open it's seals. But that is all it says. Then we read that a lamb as if it was slain goes and takes the scroll and opens it. What happened to the Lion taking it. Well the Lion did not come yet. Until after the plagues on our enemies. Y'shua came the first time as the Lamb of God , when he comes again it will be as the Lion of Judah. This Lion is of the root of David. (Rev.5:5) Who is this old Lion and who shall rile Him up or arouse Him? He is the root of David's family tree. Y'shua came as the Lamb of God, He did not yet appear as the Lion of Judah. (Rev. 5:6) When He does then Yahuda, The Praise Yah cup will be drank. Then He will drink the last cup with us. Cause the Lion of Judah will do wonderful things. Bringing our final redemption. Saving us again from our enemies. And from this land of bondage. When the galut is finally removed from us. We are no longer in exile. He is much to be praised.

Elijah's cup. Elijah is to return to announce the coming of Messiah. His cup is after the 3rd cup of the passover and before the 4th cup. This is because Elijah comes after the renewed covenant of the Lamb of God but before the Lion of Judah and the cup of praise comes on the seen. He will announce the final removal of galut. We anticipate Elijah's coming at the Seder. We look for him and invite him in. We have a place set at the table for him to come in at that time so the good news can be served.
